According to the
decision of Subcommittee of Degree Assessment
in School, all applicants for Master Degree are required to fulfill
the following academic achievements:
Part 1. Postgraduates
for Full-time Academic Master Degree
1.To apply for master
degree under the first level discipline of Architecture, one of the following
academic achievements is required:
1.1 One paper in minimum published at
professional academic conferences which are provincial level or above (accepted
in proceedings);or one paper(with invitation)in minimum presented at
professional conferences. (The first signature unit should be Xiamen University
with the postgraduate as the first author. The postgraduate can be considered
as first author under the circumstance that the supervisor is the first author
when the postgraduate is the second author.)
1.2 Awarded at least once in architectural
design competition which is provincial level or above. (1st, 2nd, 3rd, and
honorable mentioned) (The first affiliation should be Xiamen University, and
only the first three participants are considered)
1.3 One paper in minimum published in
professional journals entitled with CN Number. (The first signature unit should
be Xiamen University with the postgraduate as the first author. The
postgraduate can be considered as first author under the circumstance that the
supervisor is the first author when the postgraduate is the second author.)
2. To apply for master degree under the first
level disciplines of Civil Engineering and Mechanics, one of the following
academic achievements is required:
2.1 One paper in minimum published at
professional academic conferences which are provincial level or above (accepted
in proceedings);or one paper(with invitation)in minimum presented at
professional conferences. (The first signature unit should be Xiamen University
with the postgraduate as the first author. The postgraduate can be considered
as first author under the circumstance that the supervisor is the first author
when the postgraduate is the second author.)
2.2 One paper in minimum published in
professional journals entitled with CN Number. (The first signature unit should
be Xiamen University with the postgraduate as the first author. The
postgraduate can be considered as first author under the circumstance that the
supervisor is the first author when the postgraduate is the second author.)
3. To applying for master
degree in the department of urban planning, one of the following academic
achievements is required:
3.1 One paper in minimum published at
professional academic conferences which are provincial level or above (accepted
in proceedings);or one paper(with invitation)in minimum presented at
professional conferences. (The first signature unit should be Xiamen University
with the postgraduate as the first author. The postgraduate can be considered
as first author under the circumstance that the supervisor is the first author
when the postgraduate is the second author.)
3.2 Awarded at least once in architectural
design competition which is provincial level or above. (1st, 2nd, 3rd, and

Part 2. Postgraduates
for Full-time Professional Master Degree
1.To apply for master degree of Architecture (Professional), one of
the following academic achievements is required:
1.1 One
paper in minimum published at professional academic conferences which are
provincial level or above (accepted in proceedings); or one paper(with
invitation)in minimum presented at professional conferences. (The first signature
unit should be Xiamen University with the postgraduate as the first author. The
postgraduate can be considered as first author under the circumstance that the
supervisor is the first author when the postgraduate is the second author.)
1.2 Awarded
at least once in architectural design competition which is provincial level or
above. (1st, 2nd, 3rd, and honorable mentioned) (The first affiliation should
be Xiamen University, and only the first three participants are considered)

paper in minimum published in professional journals entitled with CN Number. (The
first signature unit should be Xiamen University with the postgraduate as the
first author. The postgraduate can be considered as first author under the
circumstance that the supervisor is the first author when the postgraduate is
the second author.)
1.4 Practiced in
supervisor’s practical projects which were to be constructed. The design book
of drawings once sealed, and signed by supervisors and the school, could be
considered equally as paper publication achievements.
2. No academic achievements are required to apply for the professional
master degrees in the fields of Architecture and Civil Engineering.
Part 3. Others
1. Postgraduates should complete their application for degrees within
four years ever since the successful thesis defenses. An overdue application
will be considered as a waiver of the degree.
2. No academic achievements are required for part-time postgraduate applicants
.
3. No academic achievements are required for overseas postgraduate applicants,
and those from the area of Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan.
4. The above regulations take effect since 2015.
5. The interpretation right of the above requirements is due to the
Subcommittee of the Degree Assessment of the School of Architecture and Civil
Engineering.
