The Building Materials Laboratory is civil engineering basic laboratory, which was established in 2000s. The floor space of laboratory is about 260m2. It has 2000KN1000KN300KN hydraulic pressure testing machinenon-contact shrinkage and deformation tester of concrete, chloride ion diffusion coefficient and electric flux meter of concrete, various types of mixerelectric folding machinecement mortar vibration tableconcrete carbonation experiment box and so on.

The Building Materials Laboratory has 3 members with 2 professional teachers and 1 technician. The main task is to undertake civil engineering professional experiment teaching of the curriculum of civil engineering materials and experiment. The experiment project can be carried out includes: 1. experiment on basic physical properties of civil engineering materials (determination of density and apparent density of brick, stone and other bulk materials); 2.cement experiment (the determination of water consumption for cement standard consistencythe determination of setting time of cement pastevolume stability test of cementthe test of fineness of cement (negative pressure sieve method)forming cement mortarstandard curingtesting the flexural and compressive strength of the standard specimens of cement mortar); 3. aggregate test for concrete (sieve analysis of sand, gravel or crushed stoneapproximate and bulk density measurement); 4. concrete experiment (mix proportioning and design and quality indicators of composition materials trial mix of concrete mixture and measurement and adjustment of peaceabilityconcrete cube specimens formingconcrete cube compressive strength). At the same time, the laboratory can perform the research experimental work of the building structure design and construction which is required for building materials, such as the designtest and experiment of concrete , identificationtest of cement and aggregate.
