8月17日，2018中国国际太阳能十项全能竞赛（简称SDC2018，被誉为全球太阳能届的奥运会）在素有“太阳城”之称的山东省德州市落幕。厦门大学与法国布列塔尼TSB协会中的五所高校、山东大学组成的JIA+联队（家+联队）从来自全球8个国家和地区34所高校的19支赛队中脱颖而出，荣获总分第三名的佳绩。获得第一名和第二名分别是华南理工大学与意大利都灵理工大学联队、清华大学队。
17th Aug, 2018 | Solar Decathlon China 2018
(SDC2018), deemed the Olympic Games in the field of solar energy industry, drew
to a close in the city of Dezhou in Shandong Province, famous for its abundant
sunshine. Team JIA+, which consists of Xiamen University (XMU), Team Solar
Bretagne and Shandong University, have come to the fore and ranked the third
place in total score after competing with 18 other teams from 34 universities
around the world. The championship belonged to Team SCUT-POLITO, made up of members
from South China University of Technology and Polytechnic University of Turin,
Italy. Team THU (Tsinghua University) secured the second prize.

The
final award ceremony was held in the lecture hall of the solar powered town in
Dezhou City. Prof. Wu Daguang, the Former Vice President of XMU, and Prof.
Zhang Jianlin, Assistant to the President of XMU witnessed the glorious moment
with Team JIA+.
这项为期40天的竞赛，通过十个单项，包括建筑设计、市场营销、工程技术、创新科技、宣传推广、家用电器、舒适程度、居家生活、电动通勤、能源绩效，评比出最终成绩。位列总分第三名的JIA+联队还荣获宣传推广第三名、市场营销第四名、工程技术第四名等单项佳绩。
SDC2018
lasted 40 days. Teams were required to compete in the following ten contests:
architecture, market appeal, engineering, communications, innovation, comfort
zone, appliances, home life, commuting and energy. The final results were based
on total score of the above-mentioned ten contests. Team JIA+ also ranked the
third place in communications contest, and fourth place in both marketing and
engineering contests.
在这40天的激烈角逐中，JIA+联队受到了社会各界的高度关注。中国生态环境部部长李干杰、山东省德州市市长陈飞等先后参观赛队房屋。JIA+联队举办的“JIA+ DAY”主题日，受到了德州电视台、网易新闻、德州日报等媒体的重点关注，吸引了数千名市民游客参与。另外，联队还举办了两次“Dinner Party”和一次“Movie Night”，促进了校际之间了交流与沟通。
During
the 40-day intense competition, Team JIA+ has attracted widespread attention.
Mr. Li Ganjie, Minster of Ecology and Environment of China, Mr. Chen Fei, Mayor
of Dezhou, Shandong Province, have come to visit the solar house made by Team
JIA+. JIA+ DAY, held by Team JIA+, was reported exclusively by NetEase News,
Dezhou Television, Dezhou Daily and so on, while attracting thousands of
citizens to join in. Furthermore, the success of two Dinner Parties and a Movie
Night also promoted interschool exchange and communication.
JIA+联队由组建到发展、从设计到施工凝聚了无数人的心血与汗水。学校和学院是团队最坚强的后盾和支撑，在厦门试搭建期间，张荣校长曾来到施工现场指导和鼓励；德州竞赛期间，威廉希尔体育院长王绍森、副书记王瑛慧，指导老师陈兰英、石峰、王波、林育欣、林跃华、林婕和队员们同吃同住，并肩作战；队员们始终秉承着“自强不息，止于至善”的校训精神，不畏烈日骄阳，创造性高质量地完成太阳能屋的搭建和运行；团队间不同国家、不同文化背景、不同院校专业成员互相沟通和交流，也收获了深厚友谊。正如赛队成员阎树睿所说：“我们建成的不单单是一栋房子，我们建成的是真正的家，两年多来，大家付出了很多，但同时也成长了很多，这才是这个比赛的意义所在。”
A
great deal of effort has been made in the formation and development of Team
JIA+. XMU and School of Architecture and Civil Engineering (SACE) have provided
powerful backing for Team JIA+. Prof. Zhang Rong, the president of XMU paid a
visit and encouraged team members during the trial construction period in
Xiamen. Prof. Wang Shaosen, Dean of SACE, Ms. Wang Yinghui, Deputy Party Secretary
of SACE, instructors including Ms. Chen Lanying, Prof. Shi Feng, Prof. Wang Bo,
Dr. Lin Yuxin, Engineer Mr. Lin Yue, Ms. Lin Jie lived and worked with Team
JIA+ side by side. Self-improvement, Striving for Perfection, the motto of XMU
was insisted by our group members who overcame great difficulty and finished
building and operating the solar house. Members from different countries and
with diverse cultural backgrounds have communicated and cooperated with each
other, while harvesting sincere friendship. Just as one of the team members,
Yan Shurui said, “we are not only building a single house, but a real home. A
lot of effort was made during the past two years, and we have grown so much in
the meantime. I think that is the true meaning of the competition”.
2018中国国际太阳能十项全能竞赛(SDC)由中国国家能源局和美国能源部主办，中国产业海外发展协会承办。比赛要求在竞赛期间每支参赛队建造一栋双层太阳能住宅，并完全由太阳能提供日常生活所需能源。评委将全面考核每个参赛作品的成本可行性、节能、建筑物理环境调控及能源自给能力，通过十个单项评比确定最终排名。竞赛旨在推进绿色建筑的发展，增强人们的环保意识，并推动相关技术的创新和商业化发展。这是我校第二次组队参加，2013中国国际太阳能十项全能竞赛在山西大同落幕，首次参赛的厦门大学获总分第六名的好成绩。
Solar
Decathlon China 2018 (SDC2018) is co-sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy
and China National Energy Administration, organized by China Overseas
Development Association and supported by the School Department of the Central
Committee of the Communist Youth League. Aiming for permanent usage, the
competition requires every team to build a single or two-story solar house with
a finished area of 120-200m2 and equipped with all necessary household
appliances such as TV, refrigerator, cook top, dishwasher, washing machine, and
computer. In addition, each house shall have an electric vehicle and its
matched charging device. Solar Decathlon aims to integrate solar energy, energy
conservation, and architecture design in a new way, to promote the development
of green building, to strengthen the environmental awareness and to stimulate
the related technological innovation and commercialization. It’s the second
time that our university participated in the event. The first Solar Decathlon
China was held in Datong, Shanxi Province, in 2013. Our team ranked the 6th at
that time.
